COMPOST.

HEY!

If you’re reading this then you probably just bought some of our FOOD-SCRAP COMPOST. So first things first — THANK YOU!

True story. Our little mulch biz started with a dream of making compost. You need a lotta carbon (like wood chips) for your piles. So next thing you know, you’re making mountains of wood chips… and then it’s mulch. And now mulch may be in our name, but compost is near and dear to us.

ANYWAY back to that bag of compost. It’s all food-scrap compost, and it’s all Georgia-made. Composted in Douglas County and bagged up in Madison County.

Plant straight in it. Blend it with the soil in your garden. Fill up your raised beds. Fork turn your existing beds and top-dress with it. Need a couple yards of it? Or a full truckload? Just holler and we can arrange a delivery.

We had the nice scientists at the UGA extension lab run a soil analysis on a recent batch and the stuff is rich — in phosphorus and calcium, magnesium and potassium. Email us at info@mulchherenow.com and we’re happy to share the lab snippet. Or drop us a line just to say hello.

HAPPY GARDENING!

What DO I DO WITH THIS EMPTY COMPOST BAG?

We have to package our compost somehow and using woven polypropylene bags seems to be one of the better, more reliable ways to do it.

That being said, we’re not thrilled about the leftover bag waste. So we wanted to share a couple ideas about what you can do with that little yellow bag to keep it out of the trash.

GROW BAG - refill it with a compost-soil blend, start a tomato plant

GROUND COVER - lay it down in the garden and suppress that pigweed

CAPTURE THE FLAG - get two empty bags, get some friends, game on!

PICNIC BLANKET FOR ONE - keep your butt dry in the grass

START A TINY COMPOST PILE - the bag already has great ‘posty vibes

BANANA COSTUME FOR A CHIHUAHUA - please send us a pic!!
